Photography day

I made a lot of pictures today but I'm not quit satisfied about them. Saturday my friend is coming over and we're having a little photoshoot. Hope i'll create something nice. Well, I wanted to make some colourfull pictures today and the first thing popped up in my head were cupcakes! So I baked a lot of cupcakes and started to decorate them, but that take too much time so I quit after a while.

Interrail 2009: Zagreb & Ljubljana

What a nice comments on my last post! I am really into the surrealism and I enjoy very much making these kind of pictures. So a lot of people asked how I did it... I will not tell you step by step, as a true magician never tell his secrets ;-) and it is just a lot of work! I can tell you that I made two photographes and mixed them together with PhotoShop.

So I thought, I post some more pictures of the interrail trip last summer. As the fall really begun in the Netherlands, I love looking at these pictures... and dreaming about next summer. I had my first driving lesson this morning so who knows, maybe a roadtrip? I hope so!




There were so many nons on the street!




After Lake Balaton we had the worst travel day. It took us forever to get to Zagreb, wich we did not calculate as the distance was not that far at all. Zagreb was nice, but I was not overwhelmed by it. It is very neat and sophisticated wich we did not expect. The hostel we stayed was awful, maybe that was also a reason we went soon to our next destination: Ljubljana!

Ljubljana was beautiful! I really enjoyed the calmness of the city. The beautiful flowers and the nice streets. We walked to the castle in the evening wich was so much fun. It was already very dark and we did not see anything. Unfortunatly, my boyfriend was really tired the first day so we stayed in the hostel half the first day.

I think I just lost my upperbody...

Fly away with me

My grandma turned eighty eight today so I went to visit here. Unfortunatly I had to work so I couldn't stay long. I promised some better pictures of my new dress so here they are! My sister was so kind to take these pictures of me.

It was also the last day that my newly wed aunt was in town. She and her husband (and his son) are flying back tomorrow morning. It was a fun week with all the Americans but it was also very exhausting. Our normal life starts tomorrow, vacation is over so back to business!

We love tapas!

I had dinner with my best friends tonight and it was so much fun. We went for tapas in the nicest restaurant. If you are planning on going to Amsterdam and you like tapas, I would really recommend it. The tapas bar is called Stefanos and you'll find it here: Roelof Hartstraat 27. Not really in the centre, but also a very nice part of the city. The owner is actually a Greek so you will find a mix between Spanish and Greek food on the menu.



I thought my pictures were very clear but when I put them on my laptop, I got a nasty surprise. They aren't that sharp but you will get the idea! I also recieved my dress from Etsy! I am so happy about it, I really love it! Better pictures will come up soon.




Hmm tiramisu... my favourite desert!

Three of my best friends! We had a great evening. Unfortunatly one of my friends couldn't make it and the other one is currently in Ghana, Africa! She's doing an internship in a hospital over there, very exciting.

I don't have school this week. That was a nice tought, untill I realised that we have to deliver a lot soon! So busy busy busy right now. This weekend I meet up with my best friends wich is very nice as I don't see them that much.

Because I don't have school this week, I work a lot right now. Nice for my wallet but I don't have that many interesting outfits as I am wearing my black pants with black shoes all week long.

Yes I do

Today was my aunts wedding. She lives in New York but because my grandparents can't fly anymore they decided to marry in Holland. So I told you before we had a lot of americans over here! It was a pretty chaotic day but very nice. The sun was shining whole day long. It was very cold though and windy but we didn't care.

I couldn't find anything for the wedding so I wore something I already had. Well I guess thats for the best as my clothes doesn't fit anymore in my closet. I only found the cutest polkadot tights, but after one hour I already managed to got a ladder.

A true romance

A few posts ago I was talking about Etsy and that I had never buy anything there. I got very positive comments about Etsy so today, I bought my first item! A cute, striped dress with a (yes!) peter pan collar. I'm so excited, hope it will arrive soon!

I see, I see

First, I want to thank everyone for the sweet comments! As you see, I still haven't found a nice place to take pictures. As my boyfriend is doing his internship he can't take pictures anymore.. It is already dark when he comes home! Winter is on his way. For that occation I bought this beret. It looks a different colour but it's the same as my (also new) cardigan.

Since three weeks, my boyfriend is following a photography course once a week. He had to make a picture with artificial light. So he shut down all the lamps and the only thing he saw was me, sitting on bed with my laptop. Very geek, I know. Well, they liked it at his course and maybe it will get a spot at the wall of the University of Amsterdam!

Travel by train

Yesterday, I went to my boyfriends sister for dinner. She just got married and I didn't see their house yet. It is beautiful! Very modern but still warm. I haven't made any pictures so I can't show you.

Next saturday, my aunt is going to marry! Her fionce is from New York but their wedding is in Holland. A lot of people from the states are coming over so my parents have a lot of guests in their house. I've been so busy that I haven't buy my outfit yet. Some seriously shopping has to be done!

So here are some pictures of my outfit yesterday and in the train. It was raining a lot yesterday but we managed to stay dry.

Collars are the best

Lately, I have a thing for collars, especially Peter Pan collars with the little roundings. I love to have a white blouse with a cute collar! I haven't found something like that in the stores yet but if you browse Etsy you pass by the most gorgeous collars. I have never bought anything on Etsy but that might change soon!

Plastic Fantastic

Today I had to check my sequence and I could get a pass or a fail... and I passed! I was so happy about it! I didn't feel really confident about it. Although there isn't much time to relax because we have to start on our storybook and personal book, what we have to deliver in one month, I did relaxed this evening. Sat on the couch and watched CSI Miami. Enough of the talking, I will show you my pictures! They are a bit different than my other work, but it was a challenge to do something different.

This is the story: The main character is the woman. She feels really confident and sexy about herself. Outside beauty is everything to her. She wants to stay young forever. When people are looking at her, she thinks it is because they think she's gorgeous. In fact, they just think that there is something wrong with her and that she looks like a huge clown.

The picture of the little ponies is to give you the 'heh something's wrong here' feeling. Cute girls with bows in their hair don't play like this with little ponies, they should make braids or something like that.

The feets are even more of that feeling, even a little morbid. Which I think plastical churgery is. To let someone cut in you other then necessary, is for me not a good thing to do. I made this photograph with the little story: you have waited so long for your shoes to arrive and here they are! On the box is a note wich says that there is an extra gift attached. That's nice! What would it be... maybe... a pair of legs?

Winter Wishlist

I love fall. The yellow leaves falling on the ground. The beautiful pink sky. Ride my bike in the park. And you can wear your winter clothes again! Fashion wise, the winter is my favourite season. I love layering, scarfs, hats and tights. Unfortunatly, Dutch winters are often fulled with rain, wind and grey skies. When I was little, I loved to iceskate. The canals were frozen and everyone was having fun. Nowadays the canals are never frozen, natural ice is rarely and it barely snows. But I don't care. The winter is still my favourite fashion season! I wanted to share with you my favourite winter items.

Oops, I did it again

I know i said i wouldn't buy anything till London but i just got my first paycheck for my freelance work so i gave myself a little present. I absolutly love this blouse. Actually, it's one size too big but i think it doesn't matter. I hope to wear this beauty soon!

Inspiration

When I was browsing the web for some inspiration, i found the website of a girl named Chrissie Brown. She is a young photographer from Seattle and i think she makes some pretty amazing images! You can find her work on her website or flickr.

London baby!

I bought a ticket to London! In December, i'm flying to England with three of my best friends. I'm so excited about it! Although it is still two months from now, i'm already saving money so i can shop till i drop! If you have any tips i would love to hear them! Also, we don't have a place to sleep yet so if you know a nice hostel/hotel/appartment that doesn't cost a lot, please let me know.

This is what i wore today. I like my high-waist jeans but i don't wear them a lot. They only costs nine euros! I also recieved my new jacket for fall yesterday.
